The State got 301 million USD from SOEs’ divestment

The Ministry of Finance (MoF) announced that the divestment of State-owned enterprises have have brought back 6.84 trillion VND (301 million USD) to the State coffer in 2016.

The MoF reported that the State-owned enterprises (SOEs) withdrew 450 billion VND (over 19.8 million USD) of investment in five sensitive fields, while other SOEs collected 2.27 trillion VND (100 million USD). The remainder came from the sale of State capital in enterprises.

In 2016, 56 SOEs with total capitalization value of more than 34 trillion VND (1.5 billion USD) got approval for their equalization plans. The total State capital in these SOEs is 24.4 trillion VND (1.07 billion USD).

Deputy Director of Department of Corporate Finance under the MoF Dang Tien Quyet said the SOEs have implemented the scheme on SOEs restructuring in accordance with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 929/QD-TTg. In addition, there have been regulations requiring equitized SOEs to list on the stock market.
