Vietnam creates the best environment for high-tech parks

At the “Business Meeting Asia” programme in Hanoi on August 16, the Deputy Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology Pham Dai Duong committed to create the best possible mechanisms and policies f

The “Business Meeting Asia” programme was held by the ASPA and Hoa Lac High-Tech Park with the aim of providing an opportunity for local high-tech parks to seek investments and promote their scientific-technological potential. Nearly 130 enterprises operating in ICT, biotech, electronics, robotics, healthcare and machinery from the Republic of Korea, Taiwan and Vietnamparticipated the event.

The event also aims to expand collaboration between businesses in and outside the park and those in the region and the world in the fields of information and communication technology, electronics and medical equipment, among others.

Mr. Pham Hai Duong said the Ministry of Science and Technology will support and accompany with industrial parks and ASPA members to expand investment and cooperation and improve their scientific and technological capacity in Vietnam.

The Hoa Lac High-Tech Park was the first high-tech park of Vietnam. This high-tech park joined the ASPA in 2007 and became a member of the ASPA Directorate in 2010. At the meeting, the Hoa Lac High-Tech Park’s Management Board signed memoranda of understanding with the Mobile Training and Technology Centre and the Daily Healthcare Centre of the Republic of Korea, on cooperation in the application of the internet of things (IoT) in the medical sector, information exchange, trade promotion and technological transfer.

The Hoa Lac High-Tech Park is planedto become the leading national centre of high-tech research, development and application, and a city of science and technology.

With myriad activities like training, incubation, research, commercialisation of studied products and service supply, the park aims to contribute to the nation’s industrialisation and modernisation.
