According to a recent report of Japan Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association (JRAIA) about demand for air-conditioners in major countries around the world, demand for room air conditioners as well as system air conditioners in Vietnam was rising sharply with impression sales of packaged air conditioners in recent years. In 2010, 32,000 packaged air conditioners were sold in Vietnam and the figure almost doubled by 2015 when 61,000 units were sold.

President of Samsung Vina Electronics Co. Ltd Kim Cheol Gi said that 50 percent of air conditioners sold in the world are system air conditioners. The total value of this market’s segment is worth 74 billion USD. He also stressed that Vietnam is a very promising market for this segment, which has seen many advanced technologies come in recently. According to Samsung Vina, Vietnam’s system air conditioner market is witnessed a strong annual growth rate of 20 percent.

System air conditioners are considered as the best choice for large spaces because they can cool such spaces without the need for putting up many air conditioners on the walls. System air conditioners are preferred to use for buildings, offices, hotels, malls, hospitals, and luxury apartment buildings around the world.

Traders and builders attribute the high demand for system air conditioners to their affordable cost, advanced technologies and environment friendliness.

Deputy chairman of Vietnam Association of Architects Nguyen Quoc Thong said the strength of system air conditioners is not only high capacity but also attractive designs and saving installing space. It is not expensive to install and maintain, and is the most economical solution for large constructions, especially buildings and houses with large space in a floor, he added.

Seeing the potential of the Vietnamese market, many companies have introduced new products with advanced technologies.
