At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung spoke highly of efforts made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam) and ExxonMobil Group during the implementation of the project.

He noted that the early production of gas from the field is significant as it will help meet the increasing demand for production and commercial consumption.

For his part, Mr.Paul Greenwood said his group is accelerating the negotiations with the Vietnamese side to reach the final consensus. Mr.Paul Greenwood is in Vietnam to evaluate the development of the Ca Voi Xanh (Blue Whale) natural gas field in the central region.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested the group coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and PetroVietnam to promptly conclude negotiations on the remaining contents, ensuring the pace of the project.

Mr.Paul Greenwood expressed his wish that the Vietnamese Government will create favourable conditions for the early realization of the agreements.
