Trước đó, ngày 5/5, Bộ Tài chính nhận được văn bản của Tập đoàn Xăng dầu Việt Nam (Petrolimex)  và Công ty TNHH MTV Thương mại Dầu khí Đồng Tháp trình về việc giá bán lẻ xăng dầu đang thấp hơn giá cơ sở. Bộ Tài chính cho rằng giá xăng dầu thành phẩm thế giới tuần qua có xu hướng giảm, mặc dù nếu tính bình quân 30 ngày gần đây, giá xăng dầu có tăng nhẹ. Tuy nhiên, Bộ Tài chính yêu cầu các DN tiếp tục giữ nguyên giá bán xăng dầu như hiện hành. 

Bộ Tài chính cho biết sẽ phối hợp Bộ Công Thương theo dõi sát diễn biến giá xăng dầu thế giới và điều hành phù hợp đảm bảo mục tiêu ổn định kinh tế vĩ mô.

Tính từ đầu năm, Liên Bộ Tài chính-Công Thương đã cho phép các DN kinh doanh xăng dầu tăng giá 3 lần với lần tăng gần đây nhất là ngày 22/4.

Hiện tại, giá bán lẻ xăng RON 92 được Tập đoàn Xăng dầu Việt Nam (Petrolimex) bán ở mức 24.900 đồng/ lít. Xăng RON95 có giá 25.400 đồng/ lít.
