Dệt may tiếp tục là mặt hàng đạt kim ngạch cao nhất với 954,53 triệu USD, tăng 20,9% so với cùng kỳ năm trước. Đứng thứ hai về kim ngạch là mặt hàng giày dép các loại với 248,12 triệu USD, tăng 2,6% so cùng kỳ. Gỗ và sản phẩm gỗ là mặt hàng đứng thứ 3 về kim ngạch xuất khẩu sang Hoa Kỳ với 186,67 triệu USD, tăng 1,9%.

Đáng chú ý, mặt hàng điện thoại các loại và linh kiện kim ngạch xuất khẩu đứng vị trí thứ 5 với 126,93 triệu USD, nhưng lại là mặt hàng có mức tăng trưởng vượt lên hơn cả, tăng 1.033,8% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái.

Theo Thương vụ Việt Nam tại Hoa Kỳ, cộng đồng người Việt khoảng 1,5 triệu người là thị trường tiêu thụ quan trọng và là cầu nối đưa hàng Việt Nam sang Hoa Kỳ. Bên cạnh đó, đàm phán TPP đang đi vào giai đoạn kết thúc sẽ mở ra nhiều cơ hội cho doanh nghiệp xuất khẩu Việt Nam.

Dù vậy, những khó khăn và thách thức cũng sẽ không nhỏ do Hoa Kỳ cũng có nhiều luật lệ phức tạp, nhiều rào cản thương mại và kỹ thuật, nếu không đáp ứng được thì hàng hóa Việt Nam rất khó vào.
