Da Nang, Japanese bank signed MoU to boost investment

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation, investment promotion was singed between Da Nang city and a Japanese bank.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation, investment promotion for small- and medium-sized enterprises from Japan in Da Nang city has been signed between the Da Nang Investment Support and Promotion Board and Japan’s Gifu Shinkin bank.

Mr.Le Canh Duong, Director of Da Nang city’s Investment Support and Promotion Board said that this MoU is the first agreement that the board had signed with a Japanese bank. Gifu Shinkin which is the largest bank in Gifu, Japan. According to the bank, it has more than 156,000 customers, of which seven are Japanese enterprises in Da Nang.

Now, Japan is the biggest investor in Da Nang with 113 projects worth 397.5 million USD – 10.78 percent of the accumulated foreign direct investment projects in the city.

According to the city’s Investment Support and Promotion Board, 84 percent of Japanese investment is poured on manufacturing, food processing, construction and information technology sector. Notably, healthcare, real estate, tourism and education sector have merged as new investment fields among Japanese investors in recent years. Japanese projects in Da Nang have created 32,000 jobs.
