Enterprises have positive outlook in the second half 2016

A survey of the General Statistics Office (GSO) indicated that a majority of processing and manufacturing businesses are optimistic about their production activities in the second half of 2016.

The results of the GSO’s survey showed that 55.4% of respondents forecast an increase in production volume while 35.3% foresaw stability and only 9.3% predicted a decrease. For the number of purchase orders, around 48.5% of the businesses predicted an increase; 42% of respondents forecast stability and 9.5% foresaw decrease. The forecast figures are 42.1%, 9.4% and 48.5% for the export purchase orders, respectively.

Regarding the employment size, 26.5% of the businesses aimed to expand their labor scale ; 7% intended to decrease; and 66.5% would not change.

The GSO reported that up to 47.7% of the enterprises expected to see an upward trend in their business production in Q3. Around 39.1% of respondents said that their business production would stabilize and only 13.2% believed the third quarter would be tougher. Nearly 50% of the businesses predicted a surge in production volume in Q3 against Q2, 44.1% are optimistic about an increase in purchase orders in the third quarter.

About 55.6% of the interviewees forecast that the inventory level would be stable.

The GSO also announced that total revenues from retail and consumer services in the first six months of this year was estimated at VND 1,724 trillion, up 9.5% compared to the same period of 2015.
