French leading waste treatment group plans to invest in Dong Nai province

A working session between CNIM Group from France and authorities of Dong Nai province was held on December 16 to discuss investment possibility for a waste-to-energy power plant in the province.

CNIM group is one of leading global waste treatment companies. The group has invested in various projects to burn garbage to generate electricity in many nations in the world.After a fact-find period, CNIM group wants to build a modern waste-to-energy power plant in Dong Nai province with an average daily capacity estimated at 1,300 tonnes of garbage. The project has a total investment of nearly 20 million EUR.

According to Chairman of Dong Nai People’s Committee Dinh Quoc Thai, the southern province of Dong Nai has a population of over three million, discharging around 1,000 tonnes of waste per day and even more in the coming years.

Dong Nai needs waste treatment projects applying advanced technologies to meet the treatment capacity while protecting the environment, Mr.Dinh Quoc Thai underlined. During the working session, he requested the provincial Department of Natural Resources to further work with CNIM group on the project.
