The
Vietnamese PM valued the leading role played by Russia in getting the
negotiations and signing of the FTA between Vietnam and the EAEU done as
schedule.
He asked Russia and other EAEU member states to soon
complete approval procedures for the agreement, in order to quickly put
the incentives to use, thus further promoting economic, trade and
investment cooperation in the near future.
PM Medvedev said the
fact that Vietnam is the first partner to sign an FTA with the EAEU
demonstrates the country’s role and position in the region and the
world.
He expressed his belief that the pact will
not only help expand the bilateral cooperation and lift two-way trade,
but also create an impetus for investment projects in the two nations,
thus deepening the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The
two leaders also agreed to actively implement agreements reached
between the two Governments during Medvedev’s recent visit to Vietnam,
especially in the fields of energy, investment, security and defence.
