SABECO listed on Ho Chi Minh City exchange

The Saigon Beer, Alcohol and Beverages Corporation (SABECO - SAB) listed nearly 641.3 million shares (SAB) on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HOSE) on December 6.

The starting price of SABECO’s share was at 110,000 VND (4.89 USD) per share. Closing the session on December 6, SAB soared 20% to VND132,000 a share.Sabeco is considered as the largest brewer with beverage market share of over 45% in Vietnam.

SABECO has chartered capital of over 6.41 trillionVND (282.1 million USD) with 44 member companies nationwide, including 24 beverage plants. The company produces beer and other drinks with the biggest capacity in the sector and a good distribution network across Vietnam.

The company is also the fifth largest listed firm on Vietnam’s stock market with its market capitalization exceeding seven trillion VND (308 million USD), according to the State Securities Commission of Vietnam (SSC).

Speaking at the SABECO’s first transaction ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the SSC, praised the joint efforts made by the company management and employees to conduct the listing in line with the Government’s schedule. According to Mr. Vo Thanh Ha, Chairman of SABECO, the listing marks a milestone in the firm’s new stage of development.

The company has reported that it met the 2016 profit target in the first nine months of this year. The company’s nine-month financial report showed that its net revenue is more than 21.8 trillion (959.6 million USD), an increase of nearly 9 percent year on year, while its pre-tax profit is more than 4.5 trillion (198.44 million USD), an increase of 21 percent year on year.
