Vietnam’s fruit-vegetable export hit 2.1 billion USD

The latest figures of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) indicated that Vietnam’s fruit-vegetable exports hit 2.178 billion USD in 11 months of 2016.

In November alone, the value of fruit-vegetable exports reached 186 million USD, according to the MARD. Regarding export markets, China is the largest market for Vietnamese vegetables and fruits, accounting for 70.4 percent. The Republic of Korea came to next with 3.6 percent, followed by the United States with 3.4 percent, and Japan with 3.1 percent.

In the reviewed period, Vietnam imported vegetables and fruits worth 814 million USD, a year-on-year 44 percent. Thailand is the largest exporter of fruit to Vietnam, making up 44 percent of the country’s total import of the products, followed by China with 23 percent.
