Microservices architecture has transformed the development of large-scale software applications by addressing the inherent limitations of monolithic systems. By decomposing applications into independent, loosely coupled services, microservices improve scalability, flexibility, and maintainability while enabling agile development and continuous deployment. This study examines the key drawbacks of monolithic architectures, such as scalability constraints and deployment inefficiencies, which have driven the growing adoption of microservices. Through an extensive review of research papers, industry reports, and case studies, this study explores the innovations introduced by microservices, evaluates their advantages over traditional monolithic systems, and highlights how they effectively mitigate common software development challenges
