Leadership shapes the culture of an organization and directly influences employee performance, especially in academic settings. Among various leadership styles, transformational leadership stands out for its ability to inspire and drive positive change, making it a key focus for both researchers and educational leaders. In the context of Vietnam’s ongoing educational reforms, understanding how this leadership style impacts academic professionals is more important than ever. This study explores the benefits of transformational leadership in academia, examining its alignment with the needs of educators and its potential to enhance educational quality. By applying Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the study provides a fresh perspective on how transformational leadership can create a more motivated and engaged academic workforce.
