Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry - 55 years of construction and development

In 1960, the Institute was split into two institutes: Light Industrial research institue (Ministry of Light Industry) and Industrial Chemistry Institute (Ministry of Heavy Industry). In 1964, Decision No. 75/QD - CP's Prime Minister: Merger Chemistry Research Department of the State Committee on Science and Technology into Institute of Industrial Chemistry and became Institute of Chemistry Research. In 1969, the Institute was split again into two institutes: the Institute of Silicate and the Institute of Industrial Chemistry (under the General Department of Chemicals). In 1973, the design was split off from the Institute of Industrial Chemistry to establish the Institue of Chemical Industrial Design. From "cradle" of the Institute of Industrial Chemistry has formed institutes specializing in design and technology Chemical Industry, for research and scientific applications, solve the difficulties caused by the actual production poses. Also, the Institute also advised the Ministry of Industry (now is the Ministry of Industry and Trade) in State administration on the Chemical Industry sector. Implementation of Decree 115/2005 ND - CP of the Government, on 28/8/2007, Institute of Industrial Chemistry was renamed the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry according to Decision No. 0366/QD - BCT by the Minister of Ministry of Industry and Trade. 

Implement innovation pursuing and promote industrialization - modernization of the country, the Vietnam Institute of Industrial Chemistry has embraced the development trend of the era of science and technology during the period of international integration, aims by 2020, bring our country to become an industrialized country toward modernity. Therefore, the Institute has actively invested in modern equipments, personnel training and expansion of scientific cooperation with other countries have great potential such as Japan, America, Russia, Germany, South Korea. In the development process, some units have grown and separated from the institute, operating under the science business model as APP, VIPESCO ... With the outstanding efforts of the collective of scientists, this scientific work was the State awarded Prize of Ho Chi Minh. Institute has implemented, researched many successful scientific topics which have value as: Inositol prepared from rice bran Vietnam; manufactured and application of biodegradable polymer film; producing clean fuels Etanonl; membrane covering preservation urea nitrogen; brake VH 3-2; producing activated alumina; plants oil extraction plants; lubricants all kinds ... Especially, the works "research, production of flotation drug Lao Cai Apatite ore type III" was produced at industrial scale and quality equivalent to imported drug selection, but cost only 70% of imported , as interest for Apatite company many billions every year. The work was awarded the science and technology creative prize of Vietnam (VIFOTEC) in 2001 and the State Prize in 2005.
