Kim ngạch nhập khẩu của nhóm hàng cần kiểm soát ước khoảng 3,93 tỷ USD, chiếm 4,1% tỷ trọng nhập khẩu và tăng 12,5% so với cùng kỳ. Các mặt hàng trong nhóm đều tăng trưởng dương so với cùng kỳ, trừ phế liệu sắt thép giảm 7,2% và linh kiện, phụ tùng xe gắn máy giảm 20,5%.
Nhóm hàng cần hạn chế nhập khẩu có kim ngạch ước khoảng 3,77 tỷ USD, tăng 12% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái. Trong đó, kim ngạch nhập khẩu ô tô nguyên chiếc từ 9 chỗ ngồi trở xuống đạt 198 triệu USD, tăng 57,5% về lượng và tăng 81,6% về trị giá; nhập khẩu điện thoại di động đạt 700 triệu USD, tăng 46,5% về trị giá so với cùng kỳ.
Kim ngạch nhập khẩu nhóm hàng cần cho sản xuất, tiêu dùng trong nước cũng như các mặt hàng nhập khẩu phục vụ gia công, xuất khẩu tiếp tục tăng trưởng khá, tăng 11,3%, chiếm tỷ trọng 88,4% tổng kim ngạch nhập khẩu.
Trong đó, những mặt hàng có kim ngạch nhập khẩu lớn là máy móc thiết bị, dụng cụ, phụ tùng tăng 24,5%; vải các loại tăng 16,1%; xăng dầu các loại tăng 26,7%; sắt thép các loại tăng 7,1%; chất dẻo nguyên liệu tăng 13%,... Riêng mặt các hàng máy tính, điện tử, linh kiện giảm 2,8%.
