- The output of steel factories have surely reached over the figure of 20 million tonnes, excess over forcast requirements in two years (2009 - 2010), approaching to excess of supply over demand for Steel industry in Vietnam.
- Though, import duty for steel products show an increase of 10 - 12 percent, however, it shows higher price for domestic steel than world steel price.
- The price for world steel embryo showed an increase of 10 percent, but still lower than 2008, with reduction of steel output from world steel companies showed 10 - 12 percent, more difficulties showed in export of steel embryo in Vietnam.
- Domestic steel consumption showed a decrease due to a lot of projects and construction works must be postponed due to inflation, economic regression on the world
- The growth of steel industry in Vietnam in 2009 - 2010 showed 4 - 5 percent compare to 2008.
In order to overcome difficulties in 2009 - 2010 and continuosly develop for next years stably, five measures will realized for steel industry in Vietnam as marketing, technology, environment, upgrading a contingent of managers, as well as finance and market development strategy.
