Theo thống kê sơ bộ của Bộ Phát triển, Công nghiệp và Ngoại thương Brazil, trao đổi mậu dịch giữa
hai nước trong nửa đầu năm nay đạt 1,275 tỷ USD, tăng 18% so với cùng kỳ năm ngoái.
Việt Nam cung cấp cho Brazil chủ yếu là phụ kiện điện thoại, giày dép, fillet cá đông lạnh, sợi
nhân tạo và mạch tích hợp. Trong khi đó, Brazil bán cho Việt Nam phần lớn là ngô hạt, đậu tương và
phụ phẩm thu được từ quá trình chiết suất dầu đậu tương, nguyên liệu thuốc lá, bông, nguyên liệu da
giày, phụ phẩm gà.
Trao đổi mậu dịch giữa hai nước tăng mạnh trong bối cảnh giao dịch ngoại thương của Brazil trong
nửa đầu năm nay giảm 3,6% so với cùng kỳ năm 2013, xuống 223,6 tỷ USD.
Cũng theo thống kê của bộ trên, trao đổi mậu dịch giữa Việt Nam và Brazil năm ngoái đạt kỷ lục 2,33
tỷ USD, tăng 42,3% so với năm 2012.
Năm 2013 là năm đầu tiên kim ngạch thương mại giữa hai nước vượt ngưỡng 2 tỷ USD, cho phép Brazil
củng cố vị trí đối tác thương mại lớn nhất của Việt Nam tại Mỹ Latinh.
